Fair Use Policy

Last updated: 10 June 2026

Where fair use applies

Fair use applies exclusively to ASD's shared tunnel servers — the multi-tenant infrastructure behind the ASD Node subscription.

Fair use does not apply to dedicated servers or servers you host yourself. There, your licence and your own hardware set the capacity — not this policy.

What's included

Every seat includes 4 concurrent connections, 100 GB of bandwidth per month, and 1 GB of ASD Data storage — guaranteed per developer. This base is never shared: no teammate can consume yours.

Need more across the team? Pools (connections, bandwidth, storage) add shared capacity on top of the base. Any pool-enabled developer can draw from them, first come, first served. Pools are stackable and cancel monthly.

The current values are listed on the pricing page and — live for your organisation — on your billing dashboard.

How we apply it

  • Your dashboard shows live usage: your own connections and bandwidth, plus your organisation's pool draw.
  • Limits are enforced at the tunnel server: when you hit a cap, new connections are declined with a clear message and an upgrade path. We never surprise-bill.
  • Existing sessions keep running — limits apply to new connections only.

Your usage is metered live and shown to you — and never billed. Metering exists for insight and honest enforcement, not for a surprise invoice.

To prevent abuse, generous hygiene limits apply to credentials (active tunnel tokens, API keys and client IDs per seat). These are not a pricing lever: short-lived (ephemeral) tokens never count, and usage is visible on your dashboard.

Acceptable use on shared servers

Our shared servers are development and testing infrastructure. That keeps one simple usage standard:

  • No production workloads for third parties (your customers' customers).
  • No processing of third-party personal data.
  • Traffic logs are deleted within 24 hours.

Production belongs on self-hosted or dedicated servers — there your licence and your hardware set the rules, not this policy.

Need more?

Outgrowing the base allowance? Add a Connection Pool or Bandwidth Pool, run your own tunnel server with a self-hosted licence, or contact us about options such as dedicated hosting.

We monitor real usage during the launch period and let pricing and fair use evolve with it. Any change is announced well in advance.
